The Marriage and Family Therapist Therapists provide counsel and support to patients with substance abuse disorder to help overcome alcohol, substance, drug, and behavioral addictions. Duties include guiding patients through crises, diagnosing psychological disorders, highlighting problematic patterns that need to be changed, improving communication, and assisting patients in addressing dysfunctional behaviors. Educates family members and support system on substance abuse disorder.
