The Role
Are you ready to work with like-minded people to problem solve for new technology and equipment? We’re looking for engineers interested in pioneering new approaches in implant dentistry. Our engineers are key contributors to product support, design, development and customer experience. Engineers in this role will problem-solve for customers using dental photogrammetry and associated software. This position will cross-train in both the technical and clinical sides of the application of this technology where you will see how your work directly improves the lives of patients.
This role will be based in the U.S. and will require occasional domestic and international travel. We are looking for a self-motived individual who enjoys solving challenges and a diversity of projects that improve healthcare equity. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, being adaptable and flexible, and working with a cross-functional team and tasks. Your responsibilities will span various aspects of product development, client communication, and technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Think creatively and critically about product features, architectures, and capabilities and make recommendations for improving product design, workflow, training, and support
- Synthesize various inputs to support product development and define how to use the product
- Communicate product information to clients with diverse backgrounds
- Develop robust test methods for research and development initiatives
- Design fixtures, dental models, and proof-of concept models for product development, research, and education initiatives
- Collaborate in cross-functional team to create or improve training materials pertaining to product implementation, usage, and troubleshooting
- Train doctors and technicians on the proper use of Icam4D equipment
- Install and configure computer systems and applications for training doctors and technicians
- Utilize dental CAD software to bridge from the technical aspects of photogrammetry to dental lab surgical and restorative design
- Assist Support team with analyzing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving customer’s software or hardware issues
- Document product issues, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates/individuals involved
- Learn dental anatomy and terminology to communicate with clients
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Skill Sets:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical background preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team & management
- Ability to work independently with guidance as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written to a variety of knowledge levels- both in person and virtually
- Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one and with a group
- Ability to prioritize and categorize tasks based on impact, urgency, and feasibility
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Skills Sets:
- Experience with the product development lifecycle
- Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, exocad, 3Shape)
- Background in product implementation in a clinical setting
- Comfortable in a surgical setting
- Experience with the FDA (Class 1-2 Devices)
- Experience in an engineering related field (Minimum 3-5 years)
Location, Hours:
You are expected to perform your duties in a hybrid environment including working remotely and in-person at the Huntsville location. Typically, workdays are Monday through Friday with varying schedules between 7am-5pm, typically not to exceed 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
