Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing programming, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems as required to meet production goals. Document work and results as required and advise management of vehicle condition. Work overtime as required to complete production goals. Function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and maintain control of situations as they arise.
What You Will Do:
In addition to completing the daily assignments of the Electrical Technician, the successful candidate(s) will:
•Work directly with assigned apprentice
•Guide assigned apprentice through the manufacturing process, electrical checkouts and functioning, diagnosis & troubleshooting, and repair
•Train apprentice on all competencies in each level of the Apprenticeship Program
Observe and sign off on competencies once apprentice has shown they are able to complete the task
Requirements
Skills and Experience:
•Minimum of 3 years as an electrical technician (NF) with experience in electrical or electronic systems installation and repair
•Expertise in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
•Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
•Experience with bus 12/24V power distribution systems, powertrain and vehicle electrical systems
•Experience with VANSCO PLC system – diagnosis & troubleshooting systems using ladder logic
•Experience with J1939 CAN Communications system
•Experience with various custom equipment systems – camera systems, AVA/AVL/APC systems
•Experience with HV Commissioning is an asset
•Electrical Technician Journeyperson Certification will be achieved once all competencies have been validated
•Thorough knowledge of NF manufacturing processes
•Strong leadership skills and instructional abilities
•Good communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
