Space and Missile Defense Subject Matter Expert Level III/IV

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Space and Missile Defense Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. As an SME, you will be responsible for providing expert-level guidance, analysis, and support in the field of space and missile defense technologies. Your role will be pivotal in shaping our strategies, policies, and technical solutions to ensure effective defense against emerging threats in space and missile domains.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary authority on space and missile defense systems, technologies, and operational concepts. Stay updated with the latest developments, trends, and advancements in the field. Capable of supporting teams and/or working independently regarding very complex technical or programmatic issues usually related to complex weapon systems.
2. Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines related to space and missile defense strategies.
3. Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning efforts by providing insights into potential threats, capabilities, and opportunities in space and missile defense.
4. Analysis and Assessment: Conduct in-depth analysis, assessments, and evaluations of existing and proposed systems, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
5. Consultation and Support: Provide expert consultation and support to internal teams, government agencies, and external partners on space and missile defense matters.
6. Research and Development: Drive research initiatives to explore innovative technologies and solutions that enhance space and missile defense capabilities.
7. Risk Management: Assess risks associated with space and missile defense operations and recommend mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: A master’s degree in engineering, physics, aerospace, or a related field is required. A master’s or doctoral degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 25, greater than 30 years preferred of progressively responsible experience in space and missile defense systems, including hands-on operational experience and strategic planning roles.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of space systems and missile defense systems, space situational awareness, satellite technologies, radar systems, and related fields. Familiarity with relevant software tools and simulation environments is essential.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
• Security Clearance: Security Clearance requirements: Secret to TS with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
