prosource.it is a global IT Managed Service provider working with Medium to Enterprise level, global clients and looking for an IT Desktop Support Technician(s) who are interested in joining a global, enterprise level team who are delivering technical solutions to our internal business partners to drive processes and meet business requirements. This is a project with a forecasted end date.

We are looking to hire a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer(s) to join an established team that supports users working in Anchorage Alaska. In addition, there may be opportunities to assist the team who work on the North Slope. During visits to the North slope, working days will be 12 hours (OT paid). Air travel to and from the North Slope (via Anchorage), accommodation and food whilst working on the facility, are all company funded. This is not a remote or hybrid role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a major oil and gas company and gain experience working on the North Slope.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with a rotational-based schedule (if a stint is required) and working 12-hour days. In addition, a willingness to travel, as a flight is required to get to the North Slope via Anchorage

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Diagnose and resolve IT incidents. Some examples include:

  • o   Printer related issues
  • o   Connectivity
  • o   Software related issues
  • o   Operating system
  • o   Screen / monitor configuration

·       Installation of peripheral components

·       AV/VC configuration and problem resolution

·       Installation of software packages and minor remediation

·       Escalation to appropriate party where appropriate

  • o   Ownership of issue

 

Requirements

An effective Desktop Support Specialist must be great at communicating with customers in person and over the phone.  They should also have empathy, patience, and the skill to understand and resolve the customer’s problem.

Customer service is a key component of success. As is critical thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities.  

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:  

·       1-5+ years of IT Desktop Support experience  

·       BSc in Computer Science or relevant field

·       Strong communications skills

·       Highly customer focused

·       Highly motivated, self-reliant, problem solver

·       Enthusiastic with a questioning and challenging attitude

·       Strong problem-solving abilities

·       Ability to make rational decisions under pressure

·       Proven ability to work within a team

BENEFICIAL BUT NOT REQUIRED

·       IT project work

o   Hardware/software roll outs

·       Executive level IT support

·       North Slope experience

ENGAGEMENT:

·       W2 (hourly) staff position.

  • Paid overtime
  • Travel Flexibility is a must
  • Some North Slope (possibly rotational) work (likely 20%)

·       Primarily the work will be in Anchorage however there will be requirements to travel to the North Slope

·       Forecasted 6 months of work

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Location:                   Anchorage Alaska (primarily) & North Slope Alaska (when required)

Hours:                        Anchorage (8 hours per day). North Slope (12 hours per day)

Start Date:                 5th August 2024

Engagement:           W2 hourly

Duration:                   6 months

Rate:                           $26-$32 per hour + OT

Other:                        All flights from Anchorage to North Slope are company funded

All accommodation and food whilst working on the North Slope are company funded
