Full Job Description
Do you want to join a results-driven, fun-loving team dedicated to empowering hundreds of thousands of teachers around the world with the resources they need to thrive? Are you excited about the opportunity to grow your career by driving launches & promotions while making a meaningful impact?
If you are a strategic, self-starter who brainstorms marketing campaigns in your spare time, gets energized by planning and executing launches start to finish, and is highly motivated to exceed your goals, then keep reading.
We are hiring a Director of Email Marketing because we need YOU to bring your strategic enthusiasm and marketing expertise to our team.
This role is a top priority in our company. We do not currently have a member of our team who is fully devoted to strategic email marketing and we are ready and excited to add that person to our team! This role is crucial to our growth and your efforts will be key in propelling our company forward.
What does this role entail?
Your core areas will be:
- Generate new Lesson Genie subscribers: Regularly bring in new members to our monthly Lesson Genie subscription, both with periodic launches and all throughout the year via email.
- Drive Email Marketing Launches & Promotions: Effectively create, execute, and manage marketing strategies and promotional activities to generate new revenue & hit/exceed revenue goals. Write effective email & sales copy that results in conversions. Measure the total revenue generated from launches and promotions, evaluating the ROI on specific campaigns and making adjustments accordingly.
- Leadership: Carry launches & promotions from start to finish (strategy to debrief). Collaborate with other team members to bring together email, social media, and ads for cohesive & effective promotions.
The primary number you will own is: New revenue from the email list
Are you ready to take the leap?
- If you come from corporate America, but crave more of a tight-knit team, fast-paced environment and being on the cutting edge of digital marketing, you’ll love this role.
- If you come from a small business but have disliked having a ceiling on your career without the ability to increase your earnings or expand your role, Not So Wimpy Teacher will be a place you thrive.
- If you’ve been running your own business and are tired of working by yourself without the freedom to focus on your strengths, then you’ll love this role!
However, if you operate best with very defined day-to-day duties and having things clearly laid out for you, you won't do well in this role. If you’re afraid to take risks and own goals, this role probably isn’t the best fit.
At Not So Wimpy Teacher, we are focused on results over details. We’re less concerned with the HOW and more focused on the WHAT. What we care about is: 1) you love what you do every day and wake up excited to do it 2) our sales are continually growing as teachers are being served.
We measure both of these on a weekly basis.
Who will you work with?
You will report directly to Beth (COO). You’ll also interact with all of the leadership team members on a regular basis. That includes Jamie (CEO), Lindsay (Social Media Director), Diana (Curriculum Director), and Scott (CFO/Ads Manager).
Where will you work?
We all work remotely and are scattered around the United States from Columbus, Ohio to Queen Creek, Arizona.
That means you have the flexibility to work from home, a co-working location, or wherever you get your best work done.
We don’t micromanage you. Rather, as the Director of Email Marketing, we expect you to be a leader in every way. You will be a daily “in-the-weeds” practitioner (writing sales copy, creating project plans, and analyzing data) as well as zooming out to brainstorm ideas and dream up strategic email marketing campaigns & launches to drive sales & growth.
