Position Description
The Finance Applications System Analyst role encompasses monitoring and oversight of system development for a portfolio of vendor systems providing governance, compliance assurance, and performance management for each vendor systems and analyze financial information to keep projects on track. This job will require an in-depth understanding of the end-to-end picture of varying system(s) and the service(s) provided within each vendor managed system, and an evaluation of the business functions needed to be completed by the vendor system, integration points, and recommended features/updates.
The incumbent will primarily analyze business needs, meticulously evaluate the need and how it should work within the system without creating manual processes. Support the analysis and design process of the requested feature with the vendor, facilitate communication between all required parties as may be needed. Eventually test the implemented features and train the users by providing documentation and or a physical walk through of new features in the system.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
- Provide consultation on complex projects and is the top-level contributor/specialist of most phases of the vendor systems analysis, while considering the business implications.
- Effectively capture business requirements to write user stories.
- Write the acceptance criteria in the BDD orientation of business language, per specific frameworks. Required to review vendor SDD and FSD as required and keep track of all documentation.
- Verify that code meets the acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate releases, patches, and upgrades for vendor system while ensure no to minimal business impacts.
- Communicate effectively with developers on explanation of user stories and validating the implementation of the requirements.
- Communicate with product managers on product roadmap, backlog grooming, prioritization of requirements and fleshing out the sprint/release plans.
- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to acquire user feedback and refine requirements.
- Other functions include system health checks, trouble ticket management, service request reviews/approvals, user administration, release management, change management etc., These will be on a small scale for multiple systems.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, project Management or similar field desired.
- SQL querying skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Previous training experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex business problems.
- Business Analysis skills a must.
- Project Management and Quality Assurance skills a plus.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to track multiple projects and perform required action.
- Background in Billing and/or Finance a plus.
