We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Financial Controller to join our team and oversee all aspects of financial management and reporting within our parks. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and success of our organization by providing strategic guidance, implementing effective financial controls, and delivering accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Analyze revenue streams, cost structures, and financial performance metrics to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to forecast future financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct variance analysis to assess deviations from budgeted targets and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and ROI to optimize capital allocation and maximize returns.
- Monitor key financial indicators and industry trends to anticipate potential risks and opportunities.
- Present financial analysis findings to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner to facilitate informed decision-making.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax obligations, and internal policies.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Consolidate financial data from multiple sources and reconcile discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and compliance reviews.
- Communicate financial results and key performance indicators to senior management and stakeholders.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial risk factors to optimize cash management strategies.
- Implement controls and procedures to safeguard assets and prevent fraud or misuse of funds.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and make recommendations to maximize returns on surplus funds.
Cost Control and Expense Management:
- Analyze cost drivers and variance against budgeted targets to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop strategies for optimizing resource allocation and minimizing expenses.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor adherence to budgetary guidelines.
Financial Strategy and Decision Support:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic planning and business initiatives.
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the potential impact of various strategic decisions.
- Assess the financial feasibility of new projects, investments, and expansion initiatives.
Risk Management:
- Champion profit protection measures by utilizing software and reporting to identify risks and anomalies in daily operations.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities through comprehensive risk assessments and scenario analyses.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard assets and minimize exposure to financial losses.
- Monitor external factors, such as economic conditions and industry trends, to anticipate potential risks and opportunities.
- Conduct internal control assessments to identify weaknesses and improve financial governance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess operational risks and develop contingency plans.
- Review insurance coverage and risk management policies to ensure adequate protection against financial liabilities.
Requirements
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in fiscal management, preferably in the entertainment or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, preferably with Sage accounting; experience with industry-specific software (e.g., ticketing systems) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends accurately.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving results and achieving organizational objectives.
- Leadership capabilities with a record of accomplishment of leading and developing high-performing teams.
- An Excel master – you must be able to create and manage complex spreadsheets.
