Resource Innovations is currently seeking a full-time HVAC Program Consultant with deep knowledge and experience in the HVAC industry to support the implementation of utility rebate programs. The position is hybrid with an office located in Chandler, Arizona and the opportunity to work from home. Travel expected to be around 40% of the time in the local Phoenix area.
The HVAC Program Consultant acts as a key contact working with program trade allies, including distributors, manufacturers, contractors and other stakeholders in maximizing their participation in utility energy efficiency rebate programs. In this role, you will work closely with the program team that administers a portfolio of energy efficiency programs for a large Arizona utility.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating in commercial buildings along with HVAC and/or building controls. Desirable candidates have experience designing, installing, and maintaining systems, and/or working in contractor or distributor sales.
Specific responsibilities include: becoming well-versed and knowledgeable about the program offerings, building relationships with key trade allies and assisting participants with navigating the application process, responding and fielding inquiries, reviewing plans and equipment specifications, performing project inspections and giving presentations to relevant industry groups and associations.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Educate and assist trade allies, including equipment distributors, manufacturers, and contractors, in how to effectively participate and promote utility energy efficiency programs.
- Recruit, develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with new and current trade allies and encourage consistent participation. Respond to program inquiries and proactively reach out to trade allies.
- Assist trade allies in navigating application process including identifying qualifying equipment and eligible customers.
- Request and obtain appropriate project information that facilitates quick and timely project application processing.
- Perform inspections in the field and meet with trade allies in their place of business.
- Deliver sales and program training presentations to trade allies to raise awareness about energy efficiency rebate programs.
- Represent utility programs at industry trade shows and associations.
- Work collaboratively and communicate well with the outreach team to ensure projects are moving forward.
- Track communications using Salesforce CRM.
- Support the team under the direction of the manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree and/or 5+ years of work experience in HVAC, refrigeration and/or facility management.
- Strong understanding of the principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating in commercial buildings. Direct experience designing, installing, and maintaining systems, and sales experience in HVAC is desirable.
- Excellent organizational, writing, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to learn and operate company proprietary computer software is required.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and have a personal vehicle to visit customer sites.
