Full Job Description
Pinon Unified School District is seeking a skilled Security Officer to join our committed team of educators and staff. This position will be located at one of our three campuses and will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all students and staff members. As a Security Officer, you will be part of a team that ensures the security of the school premises and property, as well as regulating the entry and exit of visitors and ensuring that all visitors adhere to school policies. Responsibilities
- Monitor the campus to prevent unauthorized access, theft, or damage to school property.
- Patrol assigned areas to deter criminal activity and ensure campus safety.
- Monitor and regulate the entry and exit of visitors and enforce school policies.
- Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with students, staff members, and parents.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations such as natural disasters, fire alarms, or student medical emergencies.
- Investigate and document all security incidents, including theft, vandalism, and disruptive behavior.
- Conduct safety drills and provide safety education to students and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a security officer, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Must pass the First Responder Training and obtain certificate within 90 days of hire
- Driver’s License required.
- Bilingual (Navajo/English) preferred.
