We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented surgical scheduler in our growing Arizona office. The Surgery Scheduler will support patients and physicians with surgery needs in relation to scheduling, authorizing and coordinating care for multiple clinics. In this job as an Orthopedic Surgery Scheduler, you will join a fast-pace, growing medical office management team where you will see your career take off with hard work. - Check patient orders for accuracy and inform providers of any discrepancies
- Create, submit, and track patient recommendation letters
- Create schedules for physicians and facilities
- Calling patients to advise them of their surgical date and send pre-op paperwork
- Ensure that patients obtain a medical clearance needed for a successful surgery
- Review and obtain patient consent forms for surgery
- Schedule surgeries according to protocols provided by each physician
- Enter needed data into the practice management system
- Obtain authorizations for surgeries
- Respond to calls and emails in a timely manner
- Provide information and updates in regard to patients'surgery schedules
- Schedule post-surgical appointments with patients
- Schedule time, date, diagnostic test and pre-op appointments based on patient needs /availability and enter into practice management system
- Coordinate transportation anangements as needed for surgery patients
- Send patient reminders for upcoming surgery date and time
Requirements
- MUST be detailoriented
- Flexible and able to deal with a constantly changing environment and associated demands
- Excellent customer service & communication skills
- €xceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines .
- Ability to make decisions and problem solve.
- Excellent typing and computer skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year surgery scheduling experience REQUIRED
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus!
