Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
Strong Background in either Estate and Trust Tax work OR Strong background in IRS Controversy Work (Please ellaborate on your resume)
- Applies in-depth knowledge of individual and business taxation principles and attains specialized knowledge in at least 2 areas of individual or business taxation
- Review and preparation of individual and business taxes (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, and 1065)
- Initiates and reviews consulting engagements
- Represents clients during tax exams; understands appeal and settlement process, penalties and interest.
- Responsible for billing and collections on assigned clients
- Initiates client contact for proactive services; maintains professional relationships with assigned clients; develops additional services from existing clients
- Supervises and mentors other accountants to develop their skills and expertise
- Assists the department Principals in the strategic development of the department
- Presents in-house training on basic tax topics
BONUS:
- In-depth knowledge of individual and business taxation principles, estates and trusts, and specialized knowledge in at least 2 areas of individual or business taxation.
- General knowledge of payroll tax issues that may impact assigned clients.
- Detailed knowledge of property taxes, excise taxes applicable to assigned clients.
- Familiar with general bookkeeping packages (Peachtree and/or QuickBooks); can make recommendations to clients’ base on their needs.
- Proficient with Profx and AuditVision/linking techniques.
- Ability and initiative to develop improvements to existing systems and processes.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA Certified, current license required.
- A minimum of five years’ work experience in public accounting.
- Non-Profit experience required.
- Experience supervising and mentoring other tax accountants.
- Experience with client relationship and engagement management.
