EPIC RESORT DESTINATION, is building the World’s first Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, AZ. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical & Facilities Senior Manager. This role is instrumental in ensuring the safety, functionality, and guest experience of our attractions, facilities, and infrastructure.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Technical Operations Management:
- Lead and manage the technical operations team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all mechanical, electrical, and audiovisual systems within the theme park.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing reliability, performance and safety of rides, attractions, show systems, and special effects.
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers to procure necessary parts, materials, and services for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and testing of ride systems, safety equipment, and emergency procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Attend and obtain AIMS and/or Naarso certifications.
- Manage the team’s attendance and certifications with AIMS and Naarso.
Facility Maintenance & Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day facility maintenance operations, including building structures, rides and attractions, food & beverage outlets, utilities, HVAC systems, plumbing, sanitation, and landscaping.
- Develop and implement facility maintenance schedules, work plans, and budgets to ensure optimal performance, cleanliness, and aesthetics of the theme park grounds and buildings.
- Manage a team of maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and contractors to execute maintenance tasks, repairs, and refurbishments in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Monitor facility systems and infrastructure for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction. Implement corrective actions and improvement projects to address deficiencies and enhance operational efficiency.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to protect the well-being of guests, employees, and assets within the theme park.
- Conduct safety training, drills, and certifications for technical and facilities staff to ensure competency in emergency response and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Operations, Safety, HR) and external agencies (e.g., regulatory authorities, inspectors) to maintain compliance with industry standards and government regulations.
Resource Coordination:
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring the right talent and tools are in place for successful project execution.
- Managing project budgets and expenses with a keen eye for financial stewardship.
Requirements
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or related field. Professional certification (PE, CFM, HVAC) preferred.
- 7 plus years of experience in technical operations, facilities management or engineering roles within the theme park, entertainment, or hospitality industry.
- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in mechanical, electrical and audiovisual systems, as well as building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- 4 plus years of experience managing teams and have proven leadership skills managing a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and to respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours.
