Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and versatile Accounting Manager to join our team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for managing our accounting and compliance functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records, and streamlining our financial processes. You will collaborate with a Bookkeeper and manage an Accounting Administrator. The ideal candidate possesses proficiency in accounting systems and processes, strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, statements, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Oversee and manage the NetSuite accounting system, ensuring its effective utilization and integration with other business systems.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings.
- Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Communicate financial insights and updates effectively across various stakeholders and team members.
- Supervise junior accounting staff.
Reporting & Team Structure:
- Report to the Head of Finance.
- Manage accounting team.
Location & Work Environment
- Hybrid work model: 2 days in-office per week, remaining days remote.
Initial Engagement: To ensure the best fit for both the candidate and Alabaster Co, this role will start as a part-time position for the first three months. This trial period will allow us to mutually assess the fit and performance before transitioning to a full-time role. We value making thoughtful and deliberate hiring decisions, especially as a small team.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite preferred) and Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
