Basic Description:
The Accounting Manager serves as a strategic business partner within the Executive Team, supporting the day-to-day operations of the Company, while leading and supervising all aspects of Finance, Accounting, and Asset Management. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated manager who is people-oriented, supportive, fair, and must be comfortable working hands-on, in the trenches, and capable of thriving in an entrepreneurial culture, all while demonstrating a dedication, flexibility, and willingness to put in the hard work required to help the Company make critical decisions and meet its deadlines on time and without fail.
This position will report full-time to our HQ in Westlake Village, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise, lead, manage, task, and train all Accounting & Finance team members and follow-up regularly, well before deadlines, to help them load-balance assignments with conflicting deadlines and/or changing priorities.
- Manage all Accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, Bank Reconciliations, Revenue Recognition and Tax Filings.
- Oversee the preparation of month-end closing; prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L consolidations, Financial Statements, and other operational reports consistent with GAAP and Company Policy.
- Collaborate with department managers, the executive team, and the outside CPA to identify key drivers of performance, identify areas of risk and opportunities, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis intended to increase profitability.
- Develop annual budgets and a monthly rolling financial forecast to aid in the Company's strategic direction and optimize potential opportunities.
- Support the executive team in ad-hoc projects including providing financial analyses to validate project merit.
- Act as a strategic owner, leader, and problem solver of the business- help drive necessary changes both in personnel expansion and technology adoptions.
- Perform ongoing analysis of inventory valuation, and partner with Purchasing, Logistics, and Sales teams to improve inventory accuracy and turns.
- Review and provide final approval of employee expense reports and credit card expense statements.
- Ensure all Human Resources and payroll functions are operational and handle employee issues as needed.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience previous in Strategic Leadership role within Accounting or Finance.
- Strong leadership skills with proven ability to guide teams, mentor talent, and foster career development.
- Expert level experience with QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop and Microsoft Excel including working with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and other functions surrounding deep data mining and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and develop positive cross-functional working relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to produce results, meet deadlines, and manage complex and shifting priorities.
- Strong skills and knowledge of Accounting Theory and application of financial principles (GAAP).
- Attention to detail coupled with ability to see the bigger picture.
- Ability to evaluate complex financial options, execute a plan of action and communicate resolution to appropriate parties.
- Proficiency with corporate productivity and presentation tools such as Asana, Slab, Zoom, and Microsoft Power Point.
Benefits
Pay range: $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
This is a full-time position that reports daily to our Westlake Village, CA headquarters.
