Accounts Payable Specialist

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic accounting team in LA. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in managing vendor invoices, overseeing payments, resolving discrepancies, and fostering strong relationships with our vendors. If you possess a meticulous attention to detail, thrive on problem-solving, and have an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment, this role will serve as an excellent foundation for your accounting career.

Responsibilities:

• Enter invoices into Netsuite and process weekly check runs, including ACH files and positive pay files sent to the bank
• Research vendor status and obtain approval to add new vendors including W9/W8 validating, TIN matching and creating vendor files
• Receive vendor invoices and distribute to department managers for approval
• Process vendor invoices and code expenses/purchases to the proper general ledger accounts
• Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
• Process purchase orders with proper approval from other departments and match them to invoices
• Ensure expenses are recorded within the proper accounting period within the established close schedule
• File Forms 1099 and 1096 including handling all IRS B-Notices

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting role, with demonstrated proficiency in invoice processing and payment reconciliation.
• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or Related Field
• Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, processes, and best practices.
• Experience with accounting software systems (e.g., Netsuite, QuickBooks) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

The pay range for this position is $50K-$65K. The pay offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Compensation packages include a variety of perks such as Equity, 401(k) match, and rich benefits.
