AI/ML Vision Embedded Programmer

TRL11 is a venture backed startup looking to bring cutting edge video technology to the space economy. We are based in Irvine, CA. We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Machine Vision Embedded Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing AI and machine learning algorithms on embedded systems. The application is focused on machine vision applications for assisting spacecrafts navigation, docking, and other on orbit application. The ideal candidate has a solid background in computer vision, deep learning, and embedded systems, with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience. Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement ML and computer vision algorithms on embedded systems, used in identifying, tracking and classifying objects.
2. Design and optimize AI/ML models for deployment on resource-constrained embedded platforms, considering factors such as memory, processing power, and energy efficiency.
3. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and system design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
4. Perform algorithm evaluation and optimization to ensure efficient and accurate real-time performance of machine vision systems.
5. Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues
6. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and computer vision, evaluate and propose innovative solutions to enhance our product offerings.
7. Document and communicate technical concepts, algorithms, and implementation details effectively to team members and stakeholders.
8. Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and technical expertise to foster their professional growth.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in developing and implementing machine learning and computer vision algorithms for embedded systems. 5-8 years preferred.
3. Strong programming skills in C/C++, with experience in embedded software development.
4. Solid understanding of ML techniques, deep learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch), and computer vision.
5. Experience with hardware-software integration and optimization for embedded systems, including GPU acceleration, FPGA implementation.
6. Proficiency in working with popular embedded platforms, such as ARM-based systems-on-chip (SoCs) and microcontrollers.
7. Familiarity with image processing techniques, camera systems, and sensor integration.
8. Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and software development methodologies for embedded systems.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
10. Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
11. Experience in the development of commercial products in an industry setting is preferred.
