The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Safety Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our members and staff. You will support the implementation of our safety policies and procedures, making sure they not only comply with regulatory requirements but also align with our club's ethos of care and community.

Responsibilities

• Policy Development and Enforcement: Assist in the development and enforcement of safety policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Safety Inspections and Risk Assessments: Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, with a focus on recommending and implementing preventive solutions.
• Safety Training: Coordinate and facilitate safety training sessions for all employees to promote a safety-first culture within the club.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their causes, and manage worker’s compensation claims effectively.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records of all safety inspections, incidents, and training activities to ensure compliance and facilitate continuous improvement.
• Emergency Response: Assist in planning and managing emergency response procedures and crisis management initiatives.
• Engagement and Awareness: Actively engage with staff and members to enhance their understanding of and compliance with safety practices.

The Ideal Candidate

• A passion for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all employees and guests, emphasizing proactive risk management and safety education.
• An understanding of current health and safety regulations, compliance standards, and effective safety training methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively coordinating with team members and external regulatory bodies.
• The ability to analyze workplace environments and develop safety protocols that minimize risk and enhance overall safety.
• Experience in conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and developing emergency response strategies in a variety of settings.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of security supervisory experience.
• Currently or in the process of obtaining a BSIS guard card.
• AED/CPR/First Aid certification.
• 24/7 availability and reliable transportation.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Effective communication with diverse individuals.
• Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions.
• Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities.
• Hospitality, security, military, or law enforcement background preferred.
• Report writing skills.
• Competency in operating and maintaining site-specific security systems.
• Detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills.
• Multitasking ability and performing well under pressure.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet business needs.
