About the Job
As Battery Engineer, you’ll work with the Product Team bringing Anthro’s technology into customer products and services; making safer batteries a reality. A successful Senior Battery Engineer is driven, organized and detail oriented; communicates with ease to technical and non-technical teams; thrives in a fast-paced, ambiguous, startup environment; shows technical expertise in battery cell engineering, test engineering and product development; leads through positive relationships: and displays grace in a rapidly evolving company. You’ll be directly responsible for improving Anthro products to meet customer specifications, communicating with external 3rd parties, managing work programs with customers, and taking Anthro’s technology from the lab to the hands of our customers.
What you will do
- Serve as a lead contributor to internal or externally facing projects and manage reporting and communication for multiple projects
- Develop new battery test protocols and experimental methods to test hypotheses and draw clear conclusions
- Perform battery safety and abuse testing according to external standards and developing new techniques to showcase Anthro product benefits
- Collaborate with teams across the company to develop test plans, execute on those plans, and improve Anthro’s product to meet customer specifications.
- Design then integrate battery cells into demo battery packs and products according to customer specifications; and test according to customer use cases
- Communicate with external parties/vendors
- Perform complex data analysis using data collected across all R&D teams
Requirements
- BS or MS in STEM field and 1-5 years of experience in battery R&D or battery manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience as an independent project contributor
- High performance in matrixed work environment
- Excellent program management and communication skills
- Exceptional ability to establish relationships amongst technical and non-technical teams internally and externally
- Data-driven, motivated, enthusiastic and willing to take action
- A hands-on researcher with demonstrated scientific accomplishments in battery cell design, product, manufacturing, quality control, test engineering and/or materials design
- Ability to develop new processes and train team members
