Company Description

Amprius develops, designs, and manufactures very high-performance lithium-ion cells for advanced applications. Amprius invented and perfected a 100% silicon anode that enables the highest energy density cell commercially available in the industry.

 

Summary

The Battery Test Technician will perform tasks in conditioning and testing Amprius Technologies’ proprietary silicon anode Li-Ion cells. In this role, you will inspect the product to ensure that it meets or exceeds internal and external customer quality requirements.  This position will report to the Quality Manager.  This is a part-time role. You will be called in on an as-needed basis.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Use small equipment such as a pneumatic cutter and electric drill
  • Operate large equipment such as degas machine and formation machine
  • Measure batteries/materials with a micrometer, mass scale, digital multi-meter, and caliper
  • Load cells into test fixtures, set-up and execute electrical cell tests.
  • Visually evaluate defects from a list of standard defects. Inspect finished batteries to make sure that they function properly and are per the defined standards.
  • Follow inspection procedure per Amprius spec and/or customer requirement
  • Input data into quality management software
  • Prepare cells for shipment and organize the inventory.
  • Organize and maintain work environment and implement 6S

Requirements

  • Understand basic electrical connections and testing software
  • Proficient with hand tools and production equipment
  • Follow standard work instructions and recommend improvements
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter data accurately
  • Responsible for the quality of tasks performed
  • Keep work area clean and well organized

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an equipment operator or technician in one of the following industries: Semiconductor, solar, battery, electronics, or automotive.

 

Physical Demands & Work Location:

  • Fremont, CA: This is an on-site job. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required.
  • Adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements.
  • Be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • May be required to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach, lift, balance, push, and pull.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, respirator and safety shoes.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Up to 25 hours in a week. Hours flexible.
  • No fixed schedule. On an as-needed basis.

  • Salary: $22.00 - $26.00 (DOE)
