The Bilingual Early Childhood Teacher (Vallejo First 5 Center) is a committed and passionate educator with a dedication to children ages 0-5 and their families. They have the ability to be flexible while working with people with different perspectives and backgrounds. This role will ensure families receive the best introduction in the center and strive to provide creative, engaging and thoughtful classes for all. A friendly, warm approach is essential in creating a welcoming environment.
****Hiring Bonus $600 after 30 days****
Benefits:
- Pay rate: $19 - $21 an hour based on experience
- Part Time 26 hours a week - Tuesday through Friday 9am-3pm; Wednesday 10:30-7pm (some weekend and evenings may be required but only occasionally and with notice)

Requirements:
- 1 year of teaching experience
- Bachelor’s degree education in health, human services, child development or related fields or 24 units in Early Childhood Development. Experience can be taken over education.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Ability to reliably commute to Vallejo
- Passionate about Early Childhood learning and developmental milestones
- Ability to create engaging, creative and age appropriate activities for children 0-5 years
- Proven ability to develop effective relationships with young children, parents/caregivers, colleagues, and community members of diverse populations
- Knowledge and ability to use modern office equipment including a personal computer and various software packages.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis as a part of setting up and breaking down materials for childwatch and curated experiences in the play area
Preferred:
- Experience using Google suite (docs, calendar, sheets ect.)
Responsibilities:
- Provide multiple one-hour Early Childhood classes ranging in topics and age range throughout the week
- Receive training on how to implement Ages and Stages screenings and hold screenings each session
- Find creative ways to help foster a feeling of community and support between the caregivers taking the classes.
- Work in a dynamic environment while building professional relationships with a variety of county service providers supporting the community.
- Provide support to families who come to the Center, as well as communicate with families to help keep them engaged with attending our classes.
- Receive training and implement a parent education class each session
- Complete monthly program documentation.
- Support events, childcare during parent/caregiver classes and center visits as needed
- Provide Spanish translation as needed
