We are seeking a Buyer. You will play a critical role in our procurement process, ensuring that we source high-quality materials, products, and services at the best possible prices. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to meet our company's procurement needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
Requirements
- 3+ years of increasing experience with a proven record of executing the tactical and strategic duties of the Purchasing function in electronics manufacturing.
- Proven track record for executing a visual replenishment (two-bin) system fed from a bonded inventory at supplier location.
- QC & QMS.
- Aptitude in decision making and working with numbers.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (primarily Excel).
- Familiarity with MRP systems (understanding of how the MRP systems work and the ability to work in a manual environment with the absence of one).
- Familiarity with PLM (product lifecycle management) systems such as Arena/Agile/etc.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of success.
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal communication, presentations, and business writing.
- Comfortable in fast-paced high-mix-low-volume prototyping environment
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
- Prior purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- All aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.
- Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
- Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost. May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.
- Plans and organizes all elements of product manufacturing and distribution related to the acquisition of materials and services.
- Carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.
- Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Carries out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization’s best interest.
- Prepares purchase orders, approves payments, and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance.
- Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices.
- Prepares requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages to take on new accounts.
- Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
