We value each and every one of our talented team members, and hope to inspire them to be their best selves, both at work and personally. We believe in teaching and developing our employees, and preparing the next generation of company leaders.
We are currently looking to fill a Buyer position within our purchasing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, and desire to be a part of an award-winning team. In this role, you'll be encouraged to learn not only Olea's internal processes, but also those of our vendors. You'll proactively communicate with vendors to ensure materials and parts are available in time to meet production schedules, expedite orders to accommodate schedule changes, and provide real-time updates to the manufacturing team to keep everyone in the know. With experience, you will gain a deep understanding of the processes and capabilities of each outside process vendor, and will be equipped to work with the vendor to best serve the interests on both sides of the relationship.
The essential duties of the position include:
- Request quotes and issue POs for subcontracting/outside processing, raw materials, hardware, shop and office supplies, and other purchases base on production requirements and due dates
- Track and expedite open orders to ensure on-time delivery in support of our commitments to customers
- Coordinate outbound and inbound deliveries of outside processing parts, raw materials, and purchased components
- Verify receipt of orders and work with vendors to resolve shortages or discrepancies against the original PO
- Collaborate with vendors to facilitate rework requests, returns, and exchanges in a timely manner
- Build and maintain positive working partnerships with vendors
- Update vendor, product, and subcontracting information in the ERP system
- Research and qualify new vendors for outside processing services
- Other duties as assigned
This is a full-time, onsite position in Cerritos, California. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Starting pay range is $23 to $28 per hour.
