Role Overview
The Head of Production - Youtube role requires a person who has deep social video production experience on Youtube and a strong understanding of social platform distribution and monetization. An understanding of both long form digital and short form vertical video is preferred. Ideally we are looking for someone with experience managing a small in-house production team who can own production and function as a true partner to Cassandra. This is a role for an experienced “Youtube All Arounder'' or Preditor who has done it all and knows how to assemble the right team to build a consistent video production output.
What You'll Do
Work with Cassandra to establish core values and understand the company’s mission and vision.
● Hire and lead a small Youtube focused production team (FT/contract)
● Manage the day-to-day operations of all phases of production - ideation, development, pre-production, production, edit and post.
● Lead the hiring and interviewing process as you evaluate the existing freelance team and recommend what team changes need to be made
● Recommend which elements of the production process should be brought in-house and what should be freelanced/contracted.
● Create and implement efficient production schedules and workflows for each phase of the production process and work directly with the team to establish and confirm deadlines and establish project deliverables
● Create a positive and fun environment that attracts and keeps the most talented and passionate team.
● Collaborate closely with Cassandra on video development ideas to build, produce and post consistent Youtube video content
● Communicate directly with brand sponsors regarding any video integration and messaging requirements
● Own the budgeting process, allocate resources, set deadlines and priorities for projects
● Plan video shoots and make any set and talent recommendations Select and hire additional crew and talent when needed
● Ensure all projects are recorded and that video and sound are edited, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, edited footage and sound files, overseeing the creation of static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media
Note: This is a full-time/hybrid role based in Los Angeles. We are currently searching for permanent studio space and would require that this person be in office when needed and/or for scheduled production shoots.
Requirements
● 5+ years digital production experience as a Showrunner, Supervising Producer, Supervising Director, Line Producer, Developer, and/or Production Manager building long form content for Youtube
● 3+ years producing for digital channels (experience with short form/vertical video preferred)
● Experience building a full time in-house production team -, hiring, firing and team restructuring.
● Experience developing integrations for and working with brand sponsors - beauty/lifestyle experience preferred
● High energy, people oriented work style with the ability to lead, mentor, and motivate creative individuals is a must
● Experience working with creatives as well as creative problem solving is a must.
● Knowledge and production skills related to storytelling, script writing, directing, video editing, audio production a plus.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a full time role with a competitive base salary of $150-175k and comes with health and 401k benefits.
