Full Job Description
A partner company is seeking a Coach Operator/Bus Driver in San Bernardino, CA. This position offers $21.00 an hour during training (up to 6 weeks) and $22.20 an hour once training is complete. Additionally, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $1,000.
Responsibilities
- Complete mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including Air Brake tests.
- Operate public transit coaches over assigned routes in a safe and timely manner.
- Secure fares, tickets/passes, and transfers; provide route information to passengers.
- Assist persons with disabilities with boarding/alighting and proper use of securement systems and ramps.
- Observe and comply with State and Local traffic laws and ordinances, and Agency rules and policies.
- Exercise tact and courtesy in dealing with passengers and the general public.
- Complete accident, incident, and various other reports.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance to provide dependable service to the public.

Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to obtain/retain a California Class B driver's license with endorsements.
- Stable work history and excellent driving record.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Current (no less than 6 months old) California driver's license.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the safe operation of public transit vehicles.
- Ability to maintain a good attendance record and punctuality.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to remain calm under occasionally stressful conditions.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with passengers, fellow employees, and the general public.
- Ability to follow written instructions and verbal orders.
- Professional appearance.
- Willingness to work any specified shift, including day, swing, splits, graveyard, weekends, and holidays.
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing under Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations.
