Born in June, Creative seeks a highly organized Communications Manager who is passionate about digital media and social justice to join our small, highly collaborative team. You will support the CEO, our clients, and business operations in this role.
We’re seeking a talented and experienced social media manager with a wealth of knowledge about social justice issues to join our small team. Someone who keeps up with the news and digital trends and is policy savvy. Someone who can speak the language of elected officials and grassroots audiences. Is this you?
As our social media manager, you'll execute strategies that drive engagement and brand awareness that win over hearts and minds. You'll play a crucial role in simplifying complex policy topics and effectively communicating our client's value proposition to our target audiences. Excellent copywriting and content creation skills, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and experience managing multiple projects are necessary.
Your responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy and engagement strategy that aligns with client’s identity, objectives, and target audience
- Collaborate with our team to develop original social media content that will build our clients’ social media presence and following
- Create engaging and write compelling social media content, including posts, short videos, infographics, and other multimedia assets
- Simplify complex technical topics and communicate them in clear, concise short form copy that resonates with our client's audiences.
- Mobilize people on digital platforms to amplify messages.
- Monitor social media trends, industry news, and activities to identify opportunities for content creation and engagement
- Engage with our social media community, respond to comments and messages, and foster meaningful conversations with our audience
- Leverage social media analytics and reporting tools to track and measure the performance of social media campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for optimization
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, algorithm changes, and emerging trends and apply them to enhance our client’s social media presence
Requirements
- Experience in communications, digital media or a related field. Additional certifications in social media marketing are a plus
- Must have proven experience working with nonprofits, elected officials, or other social impact sector environments with experience with CA or LA based organizations preferred
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Social media manager or in a communications setting
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical topics and communicate them effectively to any audience.
- Excellent research skills you can research a topic and create copy FAST.
- Strong creative thinking and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for visual aesthetics and the ability to create and or ideate engaging multimedia content
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices, including LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and YouTube
- Excellent research skills; you can learn about a topic and create content around it very quickly
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work across teams to develop ideas for social media content
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in using social media management and analytics tools, such as Hubspot, Agorapulse, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, and social media listening platforms
- Proficiency in using project management software such as Slack
- Proficiency in using visual content creation tools such as Canva, CapCut, and Figma
- Valid driver’s license and current insurance required
- Working in busy and loud environments for in-person meetings and production days may be necessary.

What We Offer:
- This is a full-time (35-hour/week) exempt position based in Los Angeles, CA.
- Flexible working schedule in a FULLY remote work environment
- A hiring base salary range of 4500-5000.00 per month. The final salary will be determined based on individual qualifications and experience.
- Includes accrual of vacation, sick time, and paid federal and state holidays
- Additional paid office closure for the winter holidays.
