Your Mission
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Director of Accounting to be a key member of our accounting team. This individual must be a results driven person who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited to join a dynamic team. This position will be responsible for creating policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting treatment under GAAP, monitor month end close and develop and perform procedures to detect misstatements. You will also be responsible for managing the external audits. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will have a unique seat at the management table with regular exposure to the CFO and other leaders and see a large breadth of transactions
Requirements
• Month-end close: manage and support month-end and year-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Financial reporting: prepare and analyze all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal accounting policies
• Audit Support: collaborate with internal team members and external auditors to manage our annual audit; prepare the financial statements for the annual audits.
• Process Improvement: support the Controller in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations, including streamlining and implementing financial systems
• Internal Controls: assist with implementation and maintenance of internal controls, policies, and procedures
• Account and transaction management and reconciliation: review various balance sheet account reconciliations for accuracy, including bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable; ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Compliance: work internally and with external partners to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and tax filings. Stay up to date with changes in accounting and financial regulations.
• Team management: Oversee a team of accounting and accounts payable professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship; assist the Controller with overall management of the operations of the accounting department, including AR, payroll, etc.
• Revenue: Own the monthly revenue close process, ensuring proper accounting treatment and preparing revenue flux analysis, deferred revenue schedules, reconciliations and preparing related journal entries with proper backup to substantiate entries.
• Review unique sales arrangements in detail to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and ASC 606 and prepare appropriate documentation.
• Research and document accounting positions for complex transactions, including assisting with evaluating the accounting consequences of potential transactions and providing input and suggestions to planned and proposed agreements
Qualifications Include
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· CPA Required
· Expert with ASC 606 Revenue
· Experience leading the accounting function for a B2B SaaS business
· Experience implementing and streamlining financial systems
· 6+ years of public accounting experience (including SEC clients) with a large audit firm
· Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, FASB codification and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of technical white papers
· Advanced Excel skills.
· Detail orientated while also having the ability to take a step back and have an enterprise level view
· A forward looking vision to help the company move forward with initiatives and guide the team through continuous improvements
· Ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide business explanations for balance flux, trends etc.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal skills, detail orientated with a high level of ethics and integrity

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with job posting disclosure requirements.
Pay range: $155,000 - $165,000 . Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operations business needs.
Depending on the position, compensation may also include commission, bonuses, etc. Potential for bonuses is based on company performance and potential for merit increases is based on performance.
