The Director, Broadcast is responsible for establishing and implementing standards and practices across the vertical. They will be responsible for managing both the Live Broadcast Producer team as well as the In-Game Production team. They will serve as the primary subject matter expert on all incoming business, and serve as a creative accelerant for all programming.
Our ideal candidate should be located near to our studio locations, which are situated in either Columbus, Ohio or Burbank, California.
Requirements
What you'll do:
- Serve as primary lead for NA broadcast team;
- Work alongside the Sr. Director of Content Creation to establish and implement standards and practices;
- Serve as primary subject matter expert and team lead in development of incoming business including, but not limited to scoping, budgeting, pitching and assigning;
- Act as manager of team, including but not limited to conducting performance reviews, setting organizational standards, assigning projects and managing schedules;
- Determine staffing needs for department;
- Work alongside In-Game Production team in resource planning, innovation, and standards and practices;
- Work with internal and external teams in executing broadcast vision and managing all aspects of esports broadcast presentation including graphics packages, run of show, promotion, on-screen content and assets, and more;
What you'll need:
- Solid experience in successfully leading a team of producers in Broadcast, Film Production, Sports, or the Gaming Industry(8+ years)
- Previous experience in people mentorship (2+ years);
- Experience executing large-scale and high-volume live broadcast programming;
- Experience managing and developing entry level and middle management employees;
- Expert familiarity with Google suite, Discord, and Slack;
- Excellent technical, organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Aptitude for collaboration, resiliency, and solutions-orientation;
- Strong attention to detail and organization with a drive for process and results;
- Ability to work nights and weekends and travel as necessary;
Nice to have:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred;
- Experience working in gaming related content;
- Experience working in a live event environment;
- Passion for video games, interactive media and technology;
- The desire for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite;
Benefits
The pay for this position is anticipated to have a salary range of $120,000 and $170,000 gross/year, in addition to benefits. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
