Direct Counsel has partnered with a Premier, nationally recognized firm in their search for an eDiscovery Associate to join their team. To Solve clients' business challenges from the explosion of data and emergent technologies in the workplace, the eDiscovery lawyer will focus only on eDiscovery, pushing the limits of innovation to provide enhanced value. The successful candidate will marry technology skills, litigation experience, and deep subject matter knowledge to bring forward-thinking solutions to the technical and legal aspects of eDiscovery. Potential Candidates could live in Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, or Walnut Creek CA.
Responsibilities:
- Assess legal cases to determine the scope of electronic evidence involved and develop strategies for its efficient retrieval and management.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and court orders for the preservation of potentially relevant electronic data.
- Oversee the collection of electronically stored information from various sources, collaborating with forensic experts as needed.
- Supervise the processing of collected data to make it searchable and reviewable by legal teams.
- Manage teams of attorneys and paralegals in reviewing electronic documents for relevance, privilege, and other legal considerations.
- Oversee the production of electronic evidence to opposing parties and its presentation in court proceedings or settlement negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and court rules related to eDiscovery processes.
- Serve as an expert witness in cases, providing testimony about eDiscovery methods and processes.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the state of CA.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of eDiscovery Litigation experience, including preservation strategies, briefing, arguing motions, meet and confers, working with experts and counseling clients.
- Strong understanding of electronic discovery principles, processes, and technologies.
- The ability to explain technology and legal concepts to non-technical lawyers is also important
- Relevant industry affiliations or labor and employment experience are a plus.
Benefits
Pay: $230,000.00 - $265,000.00 per year
