Who we are:
Airity Technologies is a startup spun out of Stanford University with the goal of disrupting the high-voltage market and enabling novel products across several industries, including semiconductor, aerospace, telecommunications, and medicine. Our proprietary and patented technology, developed through research in the area of high-frequency power electronics, spans high voltage dc and radiofrequency (RF) products. We continue developing our product and IP portfolio while expanding through a combination of product sales, venture investments, and strategic partnerships.
Airity employs a team of talented engineers and scientists who have the background and knowledge to develop new technologies and bring them to the market. Our products and services cover a range of industries, including semiconductor manufacturing tools, satellite propulsion, and aerospace applications, medical devices, lighting, environmental applications, and academic research.
Job responsibilities:
You will participate in the research and development of disruptive and novel high-frequency power electronics systems within a high growth startup and high-profile clients.
Your primary responsibilities will be the building, testing, and design of novel power electronics systems, both for internal product development and in consulting work for established clients. Your work may include circuit design and modeling, implementation of advanced PCBs and magnetics, testing and analysis, digital controller design and development of feedback algorithms, firmware development, integration of electronics and mechanical structures, as well as the development of end applications enabled by our technologies.
Key Outcomes
- In 3 months, you will have been a major contributor in a major product prototype
- In 6 months, you will have designed a commercial version of that product
- In 12 months, you will have been the primary owner of designing and launching a totally new product using our proprietary technology.
Requirements
You should probably apply if:
- You are an exceptional Electrical Engineer with expertise in power electronics.
- You have experience in high-voltage circuits (10s of kilovolt), radio-frequency (RF) engineering, circuit design, feedback and control, and embedded systems for power electronics.
- You are comfortable with schematic entry, board design, and electrical validation of the design.
- You have previous work in research or product development.
- You have a portfolio of hands-on projects, experience, and successful outcomes that demonstrate your expertise.
- You have experience with Python coding and data analysis
- You have experience owning and managing a BOM for a product
- You are familiar with modeling circuits in Altium and Eagle.
- You have extensive experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- You know how to solder like a boss.
You should really apply if:
- You have lots of experience with Altium PCB software.
- You could easily design a Class E amplifier
- You have experience with 13.56 MHz RF generators for plasma generation
- You love building things with your hands.
- You have experience mentoring or supervising junior colleagues.
- You have previous startup experience.
- You have experience writing Python or C++.
- You love to take things from academic theory into real products that actually impact the world.
- You have a mechanical engineering background and can account for things like heat transfer rates in various materials and enclosures in your circuit designs.
