SUMMARY
Oakwood School is seeking an outstanding full-time elementary physical education teacher for our lower school, K-5th grades. This position is for the 2024-2025 school year beginning in August 2024.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, supervise, and implement curriculum as a physical education teacher.
- Work in partnership and collaborate with other teachers, educators, parents, and specialists to develop curriculum, plan trips, and coordinate special projects as related to the position.
- Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports, report cards, newsletters, and other school approved channels.
- Embody Oakwood School’s mission and values.
- Support and follow school policies and procedures.
- Attend various staff meetings, Back-to-School Nights, Open Houses, and other events as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required
- Passion to work with elementary children and their families.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
- A bachelor’s degree in your specific or related field; Teaching credential preferred.
- A minimum of 2-years of previous teaching experience at the elementary level or equivalent professional experience relevant to working with elementary school students.
- Content and pedagogical expertise.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds and to sit and stand for 4-8 hours per day.
COMPENSATION
This position has an expected salary range of $55,000 - $84,800.
