If you’re the kind of person who loves to see your team succeed and knows how to bring out the best in each individual, then our client has a role that’s perfect for you. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager (aka The Team Captain) to lead our engineering teams toward achieving greatness.
Imagine leading a team of passionate engineers in a company that values innovation, quality, and collaboration. As the Engineering Manager at our client, you’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards. This role isn’t just about managing people—it’s about creating an environment where your team can thrive and deliver outstanding results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing environment. You’ll be responsible for setting the tone, guiding the team, and ensuring that each engineer has the support they need to succeed.
- Oversee the execution of multiple projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll coordinate with other departments to ensure that all project goals are aligned and met.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance team productivity and product quality. You’ll streamline workflows, introduce new tools and methodologies, and ensure that our development processes are efficient and effective.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. You’ll be the bridge between engineering and the rest of the organization, ensuring that communication is clear and objectives are aligned.
- Play a key role in recruiting top engineering talent and retaining high performers. You’ll help build a team that is not only technically skilled but also aligned with the company’s culture and values.
- Ensure that all engineering outputs meet rigorous quality standards. You’ll implement testing strategies, code reviews, and continuous integration practices to ensure that our products are reliable and high-quality.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set clear goals for team members. You’ll ensure that every engineer is on a path of continuous improvement and career growth.
Requirements
Required Skills:

- Project Management Skills: Strong project management abilities, particularly in Agile environments. You’re organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while keeping teams aligned and focused.
- Process Optimization: Deep understanding of software development processes and a passion for continuous improvement. You’re always looking for ways to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You ensure that everyone is on the same page and working toward the same goals.
- Humor: A great sense of humor, because we believe in fostering a work environment that is both productive and enjoyable. If you can bring a smile to your team’s faces during a tough sprint, you’re our kind of leader.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience with a proven track record in software engineering leadership is also valued.
- Certifications in Agile, Scrum, or relevant methodologies are a plus. If you’ve contributed to open-source projects or published technical papers, that’s a bonus.
Experience Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role such as Engineering Manager, Team Lead, or similar. You’ve successfully led teams that have delivered scalable and reliable software solutions.
