Tomorrow Water is hiring an entry-level project engineer (Mechanical/Civil) at its Anaheim, California headquarters. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Project Managers, managing design progress, procurement, and subcontractor and vendor management.
- Project cost negotiation with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing.
- Development of scopes of work and procuring Request for Quote (RFQ) packages
- Logistic planning allowing contractors to complete work in timely and efficient manner
- Deliver quality projects within the given time frame and budget
- Interact with clients in a professional manner
- Work with Engineering, Designers, Construction Manager, Admin Team on project related basis
- Track/Negotiate change orders
- Submit RFI’s and submittals
- Write accurate schedules
- Create, organize, and distribute bid documents
- Coordinate and collect subcontractor and vendor bids to assist Project Managers in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates
- Evaluate bids for materials, equipment, and supplies, and select vendors for goods and services
- Generate purchase orders to vendors and track purchase order
- Coordinate equipment and material deliveries for Project Managers and others
- The work may take place in a combination of office settings and construction sites. The Project Engineer must be willing to travel to various project sites and work outdoors in various weather conditions, as necessary.
Requirements
- Education or formal training in project management and/or engineering is preferred; or relevant work experience may be substituted
- 1+ years of experience in a construction, engineering, or architectural setting is preferred.
- Proficient in Abode PDF and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to propose solutions to problems.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate across various levels of an organization.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Procore, Timberline, and Microsoft Project is preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of construction industry standards is preferred, but not required.
- Financial management experience creating and managing complex budgets
- Results-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
