Environmental Attorney

Direct Counsel is actively seeking 1-2 highly motivated Litigation Associate Attorneys to join a dynamic team with an excellent firm in Burbank, California. This firm specializes in both general litigation and environmental defense law, and are eager to welcome candidates who share a genuine interest in the field of Environmental Defense law. Requirements and Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active California State Bar License
• 2-5 years of civil litigation experience
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including oral argument capabilities
• Outstanding time management and organizational abilities
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in computer skills and legal software
• Willingness to actively contribute to cases ranging from small to high-profile matters

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

• Background or familiarity with environmental law
• Knowledge of bedrock environmental laws, such as CERCLA
• Background in geology or hydrogeology
• Experience in trial, class action, toxic tort, and/or interactions with environmental regulatory agencies
• Administrative and managerial experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, deposition proceedings, and analysis of complex documents
• Draft and prepare various legal documents, including pleadings and intricate motions
• Conduct legal research to support case strategy
• Appear in court as required
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior associates while collaborating closely with supervising partners
