Full Job Description
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, financial analysis, and management reporting for the U.S. Commercial function at ATEC. A key responsibility for this role will be to maintain and calculate the company’s field-based compensation; as well as provide forecasts & insights into variances and trends. The Financial Analyst will be required to build and maintain relationships across the organization to ensure timely communication of pertinent information between departments, as well as between corporate headquarters and field-based partners. Nature of work requires the ability to work independently and receive guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Central finance support for budgeting and financial reporting for the field-based compensation component of our U.S. Commercial business.
- Owns the calculation & reporting of our monthly commission’s expenses, as well as maintaining rates & agreements in the commissions system
- Fields questions related to the commission’s calculations and payments, as well as reviews contracts for compensation changes
- Supports the creation of the management financial reporting package as well as participates in numerous monthly management reviews
- Partners with sales leadership on monthly revenue forecasting — helps consolidate deliverables and reconcile outputs with finance and sales operations
- Reviews monthly reports and analysis on revenue and operating expenses as compared to the operating plan and forecasts with business partners. Monitors and communicates opportunities and/or gaps in P&L
- Supports the modeling of business cases and maintains the financial tracking mechanisms against approved investments
- Ensures compliance with SOX/Legal procedures and assists with external auditor’s requests during quarterly reviews and annual audits, including preparation of schedules and gathering supporting documentation.

- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical, problem solving and reconciliation skills
- Experience or ability to interact with leaders at all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; Builds and maintains strong working relationships with peers
- Ability to uphold strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information
- Ability to work independently; ensure responsive and timely follow-up; meet deadlines and demonstrates a sense of urgency; ability to prioritize; and strong organizations skills.
- Highly organized with a capacity to manage large amounts of data, multiple priorities, and light deadlines with minimal supervision or direction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill large amounts of complex information into a concise message
- Expertise with Microsoft Excel and mastery of other PC applications including Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word required
- ERP systems & commissions calculations tools such as Callidus
- Experience with PowerBI
- Experience in a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Economics).
- 1-3 years of experience in financial management, business planning and analysis, and/or public accounting.
- CPA / CMA/ CFA a plus
- MBA or Post Graduate Degree in related field a plus
- Moderate experience in financial modeling

Salary Range
Alphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $75,000 to $90,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
