The Fire Alarm Technician installs, maintains, and repairs fire alarm systems in commercial buildings. They also ensure that the system is compliant with relevant codes, laws, and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install or upgrade fire alarms
- Testing: Inspect and test systems, batteries, and electrical wiring
- Maintenance: Perform diagnostics and repairs
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with NFPA and other codes
- Documentation: Complete inspection reports and maintain records
- Training: Instruct employees on how to use and maintain the systems
- Response: Respond to emergency service calls
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated knowledge of fire and electrical codes
- Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A clean driving record and the ability to meet the company’s insurance requirements
