Rooter Hero is Hiring for a Fleet/Asset Operations Manager to join our team in a critical role!
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s vehicle fleet operations. This role involves managing vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing fleet efficiency, and reducing costs. The Fleet Manager will work closely with drivers, maintenance teams, and other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all company vehicles.
We're offering between $85,000 and $150,000 in annual salary for this role, depending on experience!
Your day to day will include:
1. **Fleet Management**:
- Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of company vehicles.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspections.
- Monitor vehicle performance and ensure that all vehicles are operating efficiently.
2. **Maintenance and Repairs**:
- Schedule regular maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to extend vehicle lifespan.
3. **Compliance and Safety**:
- Ensure all vehicles comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to minimize accidents and incidents.
4. **Budget and Cost Control**:
- Manage the fleet budget, including maintenance, fuel, and procurement costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
- Track and analyze fuel consumption and maintenance costs.
5. **Vendor Management**:
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vehicle suppliers, service providers, and leasing companies.
- Ensure that service agreements are met and that the company receives quality service at competitive prices.
6. **Fleet Optimization**:
- Analyze fleet utilization and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Implement fleet tracking and management systems to monitor vehicle location and usage.
- Optimize route planning and vehicle allocation.
7. **Reporting and Documentation**:
- Prepare regular reports on fleet performance, expenses, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all fleet-related activities.
- Provide data and insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
8. **Team Management**:
- Supervise and provide guidance to fleet coordinators, mechanics, and drivers.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training as needed.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet management software.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and fleet management software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willing to travel to various branch locations across Northern California, Southern California, and Arizona, up to 30% of the time
