Position Summary
The Food Service Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of food service activities within our facility. This position involves overseeing food preparation, service, and the overall management of kitchen staff. The Food Service Supervisor works closely with the management team to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and to create an exceptional dining experience for our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supervise daily food service operations, including meal preparation and service.
- Train, schedule, and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and service.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sanitation and food safety protocols.
- Assist in menu planning and food inventory management.
- Coordinate with vendors for food and supply purchases.
- Conduct regular quality checks on food items before serving.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of food service operations, including staffing, ordering, and inventory.
- Participate in budget management and cost control measures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Employees may be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds), and work in varying temperatures. Normal kitchen hazards apply, and adherence to safety protocols is essential.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience with menu planning and inventory management.
- Must possess strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Certification in ServSafe or similar food safety training is highly desirable.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
