The Green Room Coordinator is a hospitality and food service position and acts as front-of-house for the Kitchen, specifically at the Bethel Big 6 Conferences, with the intention to extend this service to the various conferences, schools, and events that the Kitchen caters to.
The Green Room Coordinator is a pivotal role within Bethel’s Kitchen Team, functioning as the welcoming face and organizational backbone for the Kitchen at the Bethel Conferences & Events. This role is instrumental in creating Kingdom culture and atmosphere for our guests, especially our Senior Leadership Teams (SLT), their guests and speakers, and conference staff, ensuring that every dining experience is memorable and seamless.
The Green Room Coordinator is to closely collaborate with the Kitchen Manager and her assistants in order to establish a strong partnership between the Kitchen and the Green Room teams and set up expectations and needs. Prior to each conference, they will be required to attend a pre-event meeting with the kitchen staff to enable seamless flow and collaboration.
Salary Range : $4,160 – $17,680.00
Hours/week : Zero Scheduled hours (Per diem)
[Can be anywhere between 5- 20 hours/week]
Responsibilities
- Hosting an atmosphere of joy and rest for SLT, traveling speakers and conference staff.
- Setting Up the Hospitality Suite for the dining experience: setting tables with tablecloths, centerpieces, folded linen napkins, cutlery and polished glassware. As well as preparing catering-style food serving tables with chafing dishes, all appropriate serving utensils and menus.
- Managing mealtimes in conjunction with the Events and Kitchen departments, and preparing for the timely receiving and replenishment of food.
- Coordinating, training and overseeing volunteer teams.
- Maintaining a level of excellence when it comes to hospitality, professionality and serving standards.
- Carrying the leadership role for the room spiritually, relationally and logistically while being a bridge between our guests and the Kitchen.

- The ability to make quick, in-the-moment decisions while maintaining high customer service standards.
- Flexibility and the ability to pivot at the last minute.
- Leadership skills and the ability to train teams in a short window of time.
- The ability to stand for long periods and walk up and down stairs.
Recommended : - Experience in fine-dining, catering or fast-paced restaurant environments.
- Valid CA Food Handlers Certificate
- BSSM Alumni preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- High School diploma; additional qualifications are a plus.
