Liberty Behavioral & Community Services, Inc., a leading provider of services for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, is dedicated to fostering independence, inclusion, and personal growth for our participants. We are currently seeking a full-time HR Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Assistant duties and responsibilities include providing daily support to ensure an efficient operation of the Human Resource department; act as a liaison to the internal department and employees. The HR Assistant will assist with benefit administration, maintain employee records, process semi-monthly payroll, and be flexible and responsive to HR-related inquiries. The HR Assistant is required to use professional judgment and discretion when handling inquiries from both employees and participants to resolve concerns/issues as necessary. The HR Assistant is required to have proven administrative skills and HR experience. Must possess knowledge of state and federal labor laws. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills a plus. Basic knowledge of operating office equipment, organizational skills, clerical duties and human resource procedures/systems such as employee records, benefit administration and HIPPA laws. Must be proficient in written and verbal communication and fluent in English or bilingual (English/Spanish).

Key Responsibilities
- General clerical duties include photocopying, and mailing time sensitive documents
- Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
- Process payroll using Paychex, and generating manual checks
- Process Employee Claims (EDD/Garnishments/Workman Compensation)
- Assists staff with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
- Track and update employee time-off requests including CA Sick Leave.
- Assists with benefits administration
- Support HR staff with employee files and correspondence.
- Produce and distribute documents including correspondence, memos, and reports.
- Maintain HIPPA compliance and confidentiality.
- Present respectful, effective, and confidential communication.
- Support with payroll and timekeeping responsibilities.
- Coordinating changes in payroll, such as terminations or new hires
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Support with State and Federal Labor Law compliance
- Other duties as assigned
