Direct Counsel is collaborating with a premier law firm specializing in Personal Injury to hire a Human Resources Specialist. The firm is comprised of highly skilled attorneys and dedicated professionals passionate about providing premier legal solutions. We are currently in search of an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Specialist to join the team and enhance their continued success.
Job Description: The Human Resources Specialist will play a critical role in fostering a positive and productive work environment within our firm. This position will be responsible for managing all aspects of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, payroll management, and performance management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, a passion for employee development, and the ability to navigate the unique demands of a law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management: Administer and manage the firm's payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to resolve payroll issues and maintain compliance with tax and labor laws.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment process, including job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires. Ensure a seamless and welcoming integration for all new employees.
- Employee Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Facilitate conflict resolution, promote a positive work culture, and ensure consistent application of firm policies.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain and update the employee handbook, ensuring all HR policies are up-to-date and communicated effectively.
- Benefits Administration: Oversee the administration of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other firm-sponsored benefits. Coordinate with vendors and assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.
- Performance Management: Assist in the development and implementation of performance review processes. Provide guidance to managers on setting goals, providing feedback, and conducting evaluations.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and organize professional development opportunities for staff. Foster a culture of continuous learning and career growth within the firm.
- HR Metrics & Reporting: Track and analyze HR metrics to inform strategic decisions. Prepare reports for management on HR-related matters, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and more.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
