Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Data Strategy and IT, this position maintains and improves the technical systems of the company to ensure all employees have the technology they need to complete their work and ensures all files and information remains safe and intact. This position is full time and on-site at our pharmacy in downtown Berkeley. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, with occasional after hour work projects or weekends for critical system upgrades or maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with users and managers to understand and assess computing and system needs and requirements.
  • Evaluate current technology use and needs of the company and recommends software and hardware improvements.
  • Assist with the integration of applications and software used by the company included but not limited to Salesforce, Qlik, Outlook, Teams, Jotform, TrueCommerce, and Zendesk.
  • Take on the admin position for the pharmacy’s main software - PK
  • Assist in backup, security, and user help systems
  • Remain current on advances in technology.
  • Provide technical support to users.
  • Prepare and deliver operational or project progress reports.
  • Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems
  • Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements
  • Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems
  • Install and update company software and hardware as needed
  • Anticipate and report the cost of replacing or updating computer items
  • Maintain and manage IT inventory, asset tagging, IT floorplan, network schema , procurement of hardware, equipment and needed warranties.
  • Provide software support, training and troubleshooting assistance as needed. Provision new machines, coordinate with software vendors for technical issues. Maintain list of the current software licenses, assess the future needs for new licenses and submit request for new licenses as needed.
  • Assist with hardware setup and work with the MSP provider for workstation, printer, and other system setup as well as trouble shooting of any technical or system issues including WiFi, internet, phone, and other related technical issues.
  • Assist the Director of BI & Analytics with IT, systems and software related projects including but not limited to drafting manuals, training materials, software implementation plan, data related projects for platform support and any other projects as assigned.
  • Maintains BCP and Risk Assessment Plan and upgrade systems as new procedures, hardware, or software are implemented.
  • Create integration documentation, processes, and steps for the design, features, functionalities and limitation for the applications and software used by the company.
  • Assist in managing third party vendors that perform security assessments and ArmorPoint. 

Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of CIS principles, programs, policies, activities, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.

  • Able to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a fast paced and changing environment

  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, in the English language
  • Great customer service and interpersonal skills

Requirements

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, such as computer science, information technology or computer engineering.
  • Specialized training through certifications, including CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA Security). On-the-job training is preferred but not required.
  • Must have 1-3 years of professional experience in relevant field. Experience working in the healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Pass drug screen test, background check, pre-employment verification process
  • Read, understand and be compliant with HIPAA
  • Working Conditions: Standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulders, reaching waist level, reaching below knee, climbing, lifting above shoulder up to 20 lbs and lifting waist level up to 20 lbs.

Valor’s pay band range for this position is $62K to $68K per year. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Valor’s total compensation package for employees.
