The Scoop
The Junior Designer reports to the Director of Creative. This person is responsible for working with and assisting the Brand Image team, for both Film and Photography, all within the post-production side of the house. A successful Junior Designer will have a couple of years of experience in post production or graphic design under their belts, learning great habits along the way, including but not limited to: timelines, scheduling, vendor management and production best practices. Using this knowledge, you will ensure all projects coming out of this team are delivered to the exceptional Katalyst brand standard.

Requirements
What you’ll do:
- Understand project requirements and concepts
- Use various techniques to create drafts, models and prototypes
- Produce final design solutions (like logos, banners, interfaces)
- Pitch creative ideas
- Collaborate with team members to launch projects
- Take on special design tasks (e.g. color correction)
- Use feedback from other designers to improve
- Iterate and offer design versions based on feedback and learnings found in user testing
- Overseeing various jobs in Post-Production on the Katalyst Creative team; understanding resourcing and scheduling and managing accordingly
- Sharing updates on status of projects and working closely with PMs to ensure post-work all goes out on time
- Assistance on Still, Motion and Film Capture on productions including Apparel, Retail, Product, and Special Projects
- Working with more the Creative Director to help forecast upcoming projects, to ensure scheduling is tight and timelines are adhered to
- Consistent communication with more senior members of the team, ensuring they know all processes are being tracked
- Budget assistance, working with vendors to collect and submit invoices, and working with in-house finance team to ensure all dollars are accounted for
- Excellent creative eye and understanding and respect of the creative process
- Can-do capability - ready to roll up sleeves and do whatever it takes!
- A willingness to learn, and to be open to be learning as we go
- Celebrate wins and be an evangelist for the creative team
- Foster increased collaboration with key departments
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Up to three years of experience as a Junior Designer
- A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant design experience.
- Experience with design software (e.g. InVision) and graphics editing tools (e.g. Photoshop, CorelDRAW)
- Familiarity with design techniques (e.g. prototyping)
- Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts)
- Teamwork skills
- A keen eye for detail
- Time management and multitasking abilities
- Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude
- Baseline understanding of Post-Process, such as film edit and animation and sound, and some knowledge of photo post
- Strong organizational skill-set with ability to multi-task
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to listen and learn quickly
- Proactively develops initiatives that will improve the department, the work, and the company as a whole

The salary range for this role is $50,760 - $59,140 + equity.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and business needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
