Join one of the most exciting startups in the automotive industry!
We are looking for a Linux Administrator for the Endpoint Engineering team that is responsible for managing physical and virtual endpoints at scale to ensure our employees have productive, secure and reliable endpoints. You will play a key role in assisting with developing and implementing a new, secure management system to support up to 2,000 Linux desktop machines.
Responsibilities
- Perform Linux installations, configurations, upgrades and ongoing maintenance activities on bare metal hardware and virtual environments, installation of software releases, patches of the operation system and utilities, third-party products, and open-source software
- Manage SaltStack infrastructure, distributing and enforcing standard configurations
- Perform system administration tasks across thousands of Linux hosts
- Contributor to Incident, Problem and Change Management processes
- Understand and anticipate business needs and address issues reported by customers
- User Support / Problem resolution
- Be accountable for your work
Requirements
- 6+ years experience in managing large scale Linux Desktop deployments in production environments
- Strong Hands-on experience in Linux (Ubuntu / Debian) Systems Administration
- Demonstrated experience in handling day-to-day Linux operating system installation, migration, and break-fix support
- Advanced knowledge of and experience distributing and enforcing standard configurations using tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, Chef or Ansible
- Hands-on experience in building Shell scripts for automation of systems monitoring
- Experience using Change/Incident Management tools (Jira)
- Familiarity with distributed compute and storage systems, high-performance computing systems, and networking
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems, and Linux environments
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to learn and promote best practices
- Must be residing locally and work onsite minimum 3 days a week
