The Logistics Ocean Pricing Manager role involves analyzing and enhancing pricing strategies for ocean freight services. They collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure that pricing policies align with market conditions, customer needs, and company objectives. Additionally, this position oversees and analyzes the performance and profitability of ocean freight products, addressing pricing issues and proposing improvements. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of ocean freight industry trends and regulations.

Responsibilities:
1. Pricing Strategy Development:
- Develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align pricing with business goals.
2. Market Analysis:
- Analyze market trends, trade lanes, customer needs, and competitor pricing.
- Use insights to inform pricing decisions and strategies.
3. Price Quoting:
- Provide accurate and competitive price quotations on time
- Ensure pricing reflects value proposition and market positioning.
4. Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate favorable terms and competitive ocean freight rates with carriers and customers.
- Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
5. Performance Monitoring:
- Track pricing performance and key metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement and optimization.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams.
- Ensure alignment and effectiveness of pricing strategies.
7. Process Improvement & Problem-solving:
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Streamline pricing workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Resolve any issues and disputes related to ocean freight rates, contracts, invoices, or claims
8. Compliance:
- Ensure pricing practices comply with regulations.
- Conduct audits and provide guidance on compliance requirements and best practices in the ocean freight industry
9. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Address customer inquiries and feedback to enhance satisfaction.
10. Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver regular reports on pricing performance.
- Provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
- Manage and maintain ocean freight contracts and rate databases
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent experience required
- 8+ years of logistics freight forwarding or logistics sourcing/ operation required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for handling quotation/cost analysis
- Problem-solving and negotiating skills for negotiation
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- May be required to work additional hours outside of regularly scheduled business hours or weekends or holidays to meet business needs
- Forwarding Company’s Procurement Role experience preferred
- Ocean Carrier Company’s Sales Role experience preferred
- Travel %: up to 10% throughout the U.S.

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $90,000 ~ $140,000/year, and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
