Summary: As a Manufacturing Associate at the Amgen Thousand Oaks Site, you will contribute to the dynamic production environment supporting development, clinical, and launch activities. Operating under general supervision, you will perform various operations in the Manufacturing area according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Responsibilities include hands-on operations, equipment setup and cleaning, compliance with safety protocols, and participation in process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on operations including setup, cleaning, and sanitization of manufacturing equipment.
- Prepare buffers/media following defined manufacturing procedures and SOPs.
- Ensure strict adherence to GMP documents (SOPs, MPs) for safety and compliance.
- Monitor critical processes and troubleshoot basic issues as needed.
- Conduct in-process sampling of equipment and operate analytical equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspace, adhering to cleanroom protocols.
- Initiate quality reports and assist in drafting and revising documents (SOPs, MPs).
- Identify and recommend improvements related to routine functions.
- Assist in the review of documentation for assigned functions (equipment logs, batch records).
- Work collaboratively in teams to complete operational tasks.
- Follow directions, policies, and procedures at all times.
- Take initiative and foster a positive work environment through interactions with team members.
- Lift up to 35lbs, push and pull objects requiring up to 50lbs of force, and perform various physical movements necessary for daily functions on the production floor.
- Dispensing and handling of raw materials.
- Hands-on cleaning, and setup of processing equipment and process rooms.
- Assist in the review of facility and equipment documentation.
Requirements
- Associate degree and 2 years of experience OR
- 2 years in a technical school setting with hands-on experience OR
- High school diploma / GED and 4 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology and/or Life Sciences.
- Mechanical inclination.
