CSBio is a leading biotech company in the peptide industry, and for over 30 years has been providing peptide manufacturing and instrumentation to major academic and industry partners through the R&D, clinical, and commercialization phase for pharmaceutical therapeutics.
We are welcoming a mechanical engineering intern to join us at our new Mountain View site to support the Instrumentation team, located a few blocks off the N Shoreline Blvd 101 exit. CSBio's instrumentation team builds products that include peptide synthesizers, DNA synthesizers, and LC purification equipment (learn more here: https://www.csbio.com/synthesizer.html).

The internship consists of hands-on design and verification activities including designing, testing, and documenting instrumentation against requirements. Job responsibilities include the following:
- Create and update assembly BOMs, CAD drawings, models, assembly drawings, and other engineering documents.
- Provide product design solutions to meet customer needs through design and preparation of detailed specifications.
- Develop products to improve performance, quality, and regulatory compliance while reducing costs
- Generating instrumentation drawings including electrical and interface schemes
- Write test protocols, perform experiments, and author reports to support product verification efforts of our instrumentation.
- Collaborate with our manufacturing team on system builds and component fabrication of custom designed parts.
- Work with suppliers on component specifications.
- Participate in investigations and remediation of quality control activities for our instrumentation
- Collaborate with our software development and electrical engineering team
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
- Familiar with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Detail oriented
- Strong communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to work collaboratively with other teams
- Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards

- Full time (36 hours/week) paid hourly position with benefits. We work 4.5 days/week (we do not operate on Friday afternoons)
- Internship period is 6 to 9 months. Potential for conversion to full time engineering role after internship completion.
