Full Job Description
The MRB Inspector plays a critical role in inspecting and managing non-conforming materials, ensuring the accuracy of records, and facilitating communication between cross-functional teams. They inspect parts, assemblies, and materials based on established guidelines and resolve quality issues in real-time. This role requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment, along with the ability to perform testing and documentation to maintain quality control standards. Strong collaboration with departments such as production, project management, and quality management is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
MRB Duties
- Experience with handling non-conforming materials, documenting non-conformities, and purging potential discrepant materials
- Ability to inspect parts based on inspection guidelines
- Maintain and ensure MRB and NPR records are accurate and up to date in the system
- Provide immediate attention to material requests, including locating and handling non-conforming materials
- Ability to switch between tasks based on priority.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Assist with the movement of pallets and materials to the MRB cage and or to NFI area as needed
- Perform testing of assemblies, including pass/fail testing, to ensure product functionality.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with cross-functional teams, including Buyers, Engineers, Operations, and Managers, to resolve quality issues.
- Ensure that all appropriate parties and reporting systems are up to date with cases in real-time
- Stay up to date on emails and communication from various sources
- Perform other MRB, NPI and Quality related work or tasks assigned not listed
Inspection Duties
- Perform all tests, inspections and measurements required by pre-defined instruction independently
- Conduct inspection of incoming raw materials, first article parts, in-process materials, and finished goods independently
- Inspect both work in progress and completed tasks for compliance in accordance with the Purchase Order Instructions, Design Drawings and/or a Quality Control Plan, Safety, and contract requirements
- Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned by the lead and /or supervisor
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience working in a Quality Control role
- Experience in Quality Control/Assurance required
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, specifications, etc per ASME Y 14.5 and ASME Y 14.100
- Experience using basic mechanical/electrical inspection/test tools (calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, surface plate, height gauges, comparator, gauge blocks, thread gauges, etc.) and/or experience working with FAA Part 21 requirements performing inspections and presenting parts to a DMIR or DAR for purposes of FAA Conformity Inspection
- Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 QMS environment
- Able to conduct 1st article inspections per AS9102 if a receiving inspector
- Experience in aerospace electro/mechanical quality control inspection
- Previous experience working with an ERP or MRP
- Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must have a clear understanding of document types that are impacted by Configuration Control Changes; e.g. Drawings & Specifications, Procedures and Work Instructions
- Ability to use a computer for inputting and storing data in specific folders
Benefits
The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $32.00 per hour however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
