We're seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and administering the payroll functions across the organization - including Candle’s portfolio of fun, fresh and game-changing entertainment brands. Day to day - this will include monitoring time and attendance, preparing and reviewing payroll files, supporting reporting needs of the HR and finance teams.
This role’s day to day will include:
- Processing payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and project-based workers.
- Entering and maintaining employee data in the payroll system, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the information.
- Calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions based on time records and employment agreements.
- Verifying and reconciling payroll data, including hours worked, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related items.
- Identifying variances in payroll data to monitor for accuracy, irregularities and overall trends.
- Addressing and resolving payroll-related inquiries or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborating with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data, such as new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status, are properly reflected in payroll systems.
- Providing recurring time and payroll reports and assisting with ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Generating and distributing payroll reports to management and finance for review and analysis.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax withholding, reporting, and payment requirements.
- Staying updated on changes in payroll regulations and adjust payroll processes accordingly.
- Assisting with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting.

- 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in HR or payroll
- Excellent organization skills and ability to maintain attention to detail while multitasking
- Service-centric and proactive attitude
- Quick learning and eager to adopt to new systems and processes
- Ability to think strategically, be resourceful and solutions oriented
- Some experience or undertaking of UKG, a plus
