Full Job Description
The Production Manager will collaborate with Producers, Studio Technicians, Hosts, and Players to ensure readiness and high-quality production of esports programming. The Production Manager leads and understands production operations in our studios and at live events with a collaborative mindset to meet the needs of a dynamic production company supporting a broad range of broadcasts in the gaming and esports sphere.
Responsibilities
- Lead all areas related to the production process, including production kick-off, production estimates, staffing, production reporting and logs, and creative-sharing of ideas and approach to the production.
- Create and maintain production standards and necessary documentation.
- Manage all facets of daily operations for the assigned broadcast and live event productions; schedule operational resources according to production budgets and studio needs.
- Facilitate team communication and ensure timely dissemination of information.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external production partners to ensure scheduling and on-time delivery of assets and deliverables.
- Attend and act as the primary Production stakeholder during project meetings; communicate resource needs and status.
- Lead production scoping meetings for creative producers, project managers, and production department in advance of new projects.
- Manage and report production status for all phases of the production cycle for multiple concurrent projects and escalate issues as needed.
- Oversee daily production reports, track and close out show impacts and issues with the technical, production, and project teams.
- Sourcing and managing crew and labor vendors across the production, overseeing that the appropriate breaks and rest periods are being taken wherever practical.
- Ensuring crew onboarding is completed in a timely manner via company platform in collaboration with Production Administrators, Events team and project managers.
- Source and manage third-party vendors and production partners to ensure the successful and on-budget execution of the productions; lead RFP processes in line with company procurement standards.
- Co-lead the production budgeting process with project managers for studio resources, staffing and technical requirements.
- Understand and manage the P2P process for production expenditures. Support the financial workflows from PO generation to invoice reconciliation. Work with EFG’s procurement department to source vendors and finance department for timely and accurate payments.
- Manage the approval process and see timely approvals of timecards and contractor invoices for payout in collaboration with the project manager and company subject matter experts.
- Manage the production office consisting of freelance production coordinators and assistants to ensure the successful execution of multiple projects.
Requirements
- Knowledge of standard, camera, grip and graphic broadcast production gear and knowledge of live broadcast & event lighting, audio, graphics, and video production procedures (inclusive of pre- and post-production).
- Familiarity with internet requirements for streaming broadcast
- Ability to communicate effectively within complex and stressful situations.
- Comfortable working on a studio stage and assisting production crew (stage setup, gathering and storing props)
- Flexibility with occasionally working late and on weekends.
- Document technical procedures and processes.
- A personality to be ambitious, enthusiastic, detail-oriented and analytical.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
